The love of horses.

When your horse follows you without being asked, when he rubs his head on yours,
and when you look at him and feel a tingle down your spine...you know you are loved."

Been going through some really rough personal stuff lately. Aside from my amazing supportive family and the few true friends that stuck around and my boyfriend...

Horses are the one solid, love of my life. At work every morning at 4 am the nicker of my favourite mare, never fails to make me smile. She's a special horse and goes so well for me when I work her in the morning. Even in the rush of work to get everything done I always make time to give her scratches and cuddles and if I do have spare time, it's so nice to hug her neck and feel her sweet horse breath. She is such a sweetheart and doesn't tolerate anyone else the way she does for me. I have such a soft spot for her....

Also I just love this picture of me and my baby girl Poppy, especially with the mountain in the background.

Theres just something special about the horse. There's just something so free and calming about them. I don't know how people could live without the love of a horse.

Injury...

So the other day at work, I was up on the concrete wall of the cross ties about to mount the young horse I was riding. And in typical me fashion, I slipped and split my head on the way down on the corner of the wall.

You can see my dressing in this photo taken at my brothers birthday last night.

After getting patched up at the hospital it was back to work again in the afternoon. No rest for the wicked!! Lol

Race day!!

Today was a big day at work, asides from all the usual, riding, working with babies etc etc etc, we had 8 horses racing. Two of which were my favourites.
Of course, my favourite filly to ride in the mornings, Road To Rock (race name Art Deco).

She is honestly the sweetest racehorse I know. Always nickers when she sees me and is so nice to ride. I can breeze her with a loose rein.
Today she came second in a tough field, for her third start.

My other favourite filly Big Darcy, named because she is literally the biggest horse we have (race name Conflagration), was going to be sent away unless she redeemed herself today. And she really stepped up, and she ran so well also coming second.

Proud of these girls!!

Randomness

Bad quality, it's really early so still dark!!

Meet one of my favourite horses that I work with. This is Road To Rock. She is an absolute sweetie. She is one of my regulars and I can have a loose rein with her and she will gallop round, with no pulling or drifting. Such a good little mare, I love the mornings shes on the list to run :)

This is one of the barn cats that follows me around and tries to help while I muck out and feed etc
